Along the Road to Key West
The Florida Keys are a chain of tropical islands that stretch from the southern tip of Florida into the Gulf of Mexico. The islands are known for their beautiful beaches, crystal-clear waters, and lush vegetation. Key West, the southernmost point in the continental United States, is a popular tourist destination with a vibrant nightlife and a rich history.

I recently had the opportunity to drive along the Overseas Highway, which connects the Florida Keys to the mainland. The drive is a beautiful one, with stunning views of the ocean and the islands. I stopped at several points along the way to take pictures and explore the different islands.
Here are some of the highlights of my trip:
- Key Largo: Key Largo is the largest and northernmost of the Florida Keys. It is home to John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park, which is one of the most popular snorkeling and diving destinations in the world.
- Islamorada: Islamorada is known as the "Sportfishing Capital of the World." It is a great place to go fishing, diving, or snorkeling.
- Marathon: Marathon is a small city located in the middle of the Florida Keys. It is a popular destination for tourists and boaters.
- Big Pine Key: Big Pine Key is home to the National Key Deer Refuge. The refuge is home to a herd of endangered Key deer, which are the smallest deer in North America.
- Key West: Key West is the southernmost point in the continental United States. It is a popular tourist destination with a vibrant nightlife and a rich history.
The Florida Keys are a beautiful and unique place to visit. The islands offer something for everyone, from stunning beaches and crystal-clear waters to lush vegetation and vibrant nightlife. I highly recommend taking a drive along the Overseas Highway and exploring the different islands.
