Synopsis
The Bride Chooses Highlander: The McKennas is a historical romance novel by Brenda Joyce. It tells the story of a young woman named Catriona who is forced to marry a highlander named Lachlan in order to save her family. Catriona is a strong and independent woman, but she is also fiercely loyal to her family. When her father is killed by a rival clan, she knows that she must do whatever it takes to protect her family. Marrying Lachlan is the only way to do that.
Lachlan is a powerful and respected warrior. He is also a kind and compassionate man. When he meets Catriona, he is immediately drawn to her strength and independence. He knows that she is the perfect woman for him. However, Catriona is not so sure. She has never met a highlander before, and she is not sure what to expect. But as she gets to know Lachlan, she begins to realize that he is not what she expected. He is a good man, and he loves her. Catriona eventually agrees to marry Lachlan, and they are soon married in a beautiful ceremony.
After the wedding, Catriona and Lachlan travel to Lachlan's home in the Highlands. Catriona is amazed by the beauty of the Highlands, and she quickly falls in love with the people and the culture. She also begins to fall in love with Lachlan. He is everything that she has ever wanted in a man. He is strong, brave, and kind. He also loves her very much.
However, Catriona's happiness is short-lived. The rival clan that killed her father is still out there, and they are determined to get revenge. They attack Lachlan's home, and Catriona is kidnapped. Lachlan is devastated, and he vows to find Catriona and bring her home safely.
Lachlan searches for Catriona for months, but he cannot find her. He is about to give up hope when he receives a message from Catriona. She is alive, but she is being held captive by the rival clan. Lachlan immediately sets out to rescue Catriona, and he finally finds her in a remote castle.
Lachlan and Catriona are reunited, and they are overjoyed to be together again. They return to Lachlan's home, and they live happily ever after.
